About the practice

Dr. Adam Hamilton

A soft tissue and rehab-based chiropractic physician.

Most people associate chiropractic with neck and back adjustments. Dr. Hamilton is part of a newer wave of sports-oriented chiropractors who draw on a much wider set of tools — patients often have a hard time describing exactly what he does, because it sits somewhere between chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, and athletic training.

He has a deep interest in biomechanics, sports, and movement, and provides a full continuum of care — from treating an acute or chronic injury to coaching high-level sports performance.

Dr. Hamilton graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa, and earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic Summa Cum Laude from the University of Western States in Portland, OR in 2010.

A lifelong athlete

Dr. Hamilton's own background as a competitive athlete shapes how he treats patients. In high school, he was a New Hampshire state, New England, and national champion in track & field throwing events. At the University of Iowa, he was a Big Ten Conference champion and two-time All-American in the hammer throw, and competed three times at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships, placing as high as 9th.

After his throwing career, he moved into Olympic weightlifting as both competitor and coach, placing as high as 3rd at Masters Nationals and 5th at Masters Worlds.

Dr. Hamilton with his wife Lindsay and daughter Myelle

Outside the clinic, Dr. Hamilton is happiest spending time with his family — wife Lindsay and daughter Myelle. He no longer competes himself, but stays close to the sport by coaching Myelle, a Mountain View High School athlete in Bend, in discus, shot put, and competitive powerlifting. When he's not coaching, you'll find him mountain biking, skiing, hunting, or getting in his own strength training.

"I've had Adam rehab three shoulder surgeries, a total knee replacement, and an ankle replacement. He's been compassionate, caring, and very knowledgeable on the rehab. He spends the time with you to ensure you get the full benefits of his rehabilitation process, not just a number through the door. His approach and skills are exceptional — not the run of the mill chiropractic rehab."

Why patients stick around

Some patients go hard in their physical pursuits and need regular hands-on work to keep up with it — but the goal here isn't to become anyone's permanent maintenance appointment. It's to help you feel and move better, and give you the tools to keep it that way. Treatment starts with a real assessment of the whole body — your activities, your habits, and how it all works together — not just the spot that hurts.
